I love the chances I have to go out without Maddie.
I get reacquainted with old friends. My handbags. They become like new friends again.
I have to wipe off the dust and reshape some of them. But, then in a short moment, I remember why I love them so.
When I'm enjoying some "Me" time, I'm usually headed to the mall. Which usually ends up meaning buying a new handbag to keep the others ones company.

Watch What You Say
Maddie is saying more words, sentences and phrases. We pretend to have real serious conversations and look at each other like we know what the other is saying.
This is nice for the fact she can tell me what she wants and doesn't want, for the most part. We do have confusion sometimes, but I have learned to narrow it down.
In the last week- she has learned to count to 3. One, two, three, Go! (thanks SoccerTots)
She can say Maddie Bessada. Unfortunately, we could only get Bessada on camera.
So, now I have to watch my words and what I say very carefully.
Also, she has a great memory. I bribed her with a sucker if she would get in the stroller and let Mommy take a walk. I be damned if when we got home she looks and me and says, "Mommy, sucker pleeaassee."
They do learn from their environment and very learn quickly. I just hope that I am setting a good example for that little Bean. I don't need her rolling into Pre-School yelling, "HOLLA!" to her teachers.

And lastly, she heard me say "Holla!" to Daniel on the phone and repeated it. And she keeps repeating.

Has Spring Sprung?
Well, the money from my wallet has sprung right on out.
Downside of having a girl- all the freaking cute clothes. I mean this child can't have enough pink according to me. Thank God, I'm not opposed to saving a few bucks by buying consigned clothes and using hand-me-downs. Oh, Grandparents, I can't forget them and all stuff they add to Miss Maddie's collection. (I know Daniel is also thankful)
Maddie hates to shop, but loves shoes. We were in Target one day and I walk the shoe isle looking for some bargains. Maddie looks up and says, "Wow, Mommy!" That's my girl!
Most children don't like flip-flops and having something between there toes. Maddie does. She has worn the same pair of flip-flips for the last 3 day (even during the cold spell) and at night, she wears her ballet slippers.
While we are talking about shoes- I'm in a quest for pink wedges and a matching handbag. A big handbag. I'm trying to be more adventurous and carry my own handbag again. But, I do love all my Big Diaperbags. Why should Maddie be the only one with cute stuff for the Spring? I'm foreseeing a trip to DSW in my future.

Things I have learned with am 18 month old....
Maddie has taught me many things over the last 18 months, which has brought me to these conclusions.................
1. I can't try to sneak in a french fry. Maddie has eyes like a hawk and a nose like a dog.
2. Milk and juice- there is difference and I can't trick Maddie.
3. Really- hot meals are overrated.
4. One can never have too much Dora. Wonder if they make Dora clothes for me?
5. It's okay to watch Cars- 2 times a day.
6. Maddie doesn't like meat- I need to quit trying to sneak it in her food.
7. It's really ok, if Maddie and Cookie mouth kiss each other.
8. Maddie knows who will give in.
9. I'm use to showering with 2 beaty brown eyes staring at me.
10.Lightening McQueen and Dora are dating.

I survived vacation- barely!
So, Daniel and I thought it would be a great idea to take our yearly cruise and invite Maddie. We had a great time- but it was no vacation for Mommy. I worked just as hard as I do when I'm at home.
All in all- Maddie was good. I think she missed Cookie and her toys. (You can only put so many toys in your suitcase) Mad was on a strict diet of cereal, pasta/noodles, strawberries and ice cream cones. This was her chance to milk us of all the goodies that you eat on vacation, but not Maddie. She loved to have her picture taken by other people and was quite the PhotoBomber.
She loved the water and the sand- our little water baby.
Daniel and I even squeezed in some alone time.
Thank God for on board Babysitting. It gave Maddie time away from us and us a break from her. It also gave me and Daniel a chance to a few Pina Coldas and actually enjoy them.
(Daniel and Me in the Bahamas)
I think my favorite part was Half Moon Cay. (It's a private island) The sand was like flour in between my toes, the water was crystal blue, and the man bringing me fruity drinks with umbrellas under my cabana was a plus.
Can't wait for my next vacation!!!!

End of a Great Holiday Season
I'm pooped. It was a great Christmas and New Year. But, boy was it exhausting. I need some time to recoop and so does my house.
Maddie had a Dora the Explorer Christmas. If it was Dora, someone got it for her. Also, note to self- don't wrap anything for her. She liked the unwrapped gifts the best. She is also the dress up queen- we go from Cinderella, Bella to Princess Barbie all in one day some times.
Note: the picture. We were nice and buzzed from our FREE drinks at the Ritz, were stupid, left the hotel to stand in the cold, watch the Peach Drop and lose our nice buzz. The cold sure can sober you up.
Hope all of you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
