6 month Hiatus

Ok- I don't have enough time and really miss blogging. Quick up of the last 6 months.

  • Disney. It was a blast and we can't wait to take the family again. That place is truly magical at any age. Only, down side is that everyone but me (go figure) got sick on the way home. Oh, Jake started walking right after the trip thank God.

  • Summer. It was long. Pool, playdates, zoo trips, trips to visit family, Maddie's first sleeping the night over at a friends, cook outs and holidays. The kids had to constantly be busy all summer- I was a cruise director for 2.

  • August- Maddie started Pre-K and turned 4. (I have started a blog on the age of 4 and plan to finish it soon)

  • And to now- Jake will be 18 months in a few days. The Bessadas have been to Statesboro for all the home games. It great that we are all a football family.

So, this is a quick what I have been up to.

On a lighter note- I do have my eye on my newest handbag. Watch out Daniel!

Happy 1st Birthday Jakey!!!!

Oh-Jakey Boy. What a year it has been. And boy, how it has flown by.

I have to admit- I wasn't all thrilled about having a boy. But, now realize that you have added balance and a new adventure to my life.

You add a whole new color (blue) to our world. Since Maddie had saturated it with all shades of pink.

Things you sister never got into- you have now taken care of that. Surround sound, wires under the computer, trash can, taking the plug-ins off the wall and my favorite- toliet and toliet paper playing)

You are a tough little cookie and are NO where near as sensitive and Miss

Maddie either. You love to ignore "No" and test your limits.

You are a cuddly little booger and your Mommy loves that. I love the extra

little snuggles I can get from you each day.

Penises are a weapon and I have learned to use a sheild with it. (that only

took getting peed on a few times)

I have also learned alot about being a parent. I will never compare you to your sister. For one, you are a boy. And you are also your own person, with your own wants, needs and personality. I am always learning how to adjust to styles of you and your sister.

Love you my little Bubbie- and here is to another year.

A poem to good not to repost

I am proud to say that I have successfully nursed to babies for a year- which was my goal. It has been experience I will never forget and am truly blessed to have had this bonding time with my babies. But, I am excited to have my now saggy boobies back!

Ending Friendships
(Heads up- this might be TMI)

To my breast pump-You got me through many o' humps.
Nursing pads, you were my friend,You were my BFF until the end.
And you- Lily Pads,I kept you around until you leaked and made me mad.
And I can't forget you- nursing bras. You stayed around to see it all.
The time has come to say Good-Bye, Don't you worry, I will not cry. (well, i might cry this time)

Maddie-isms

Maddie has been cracking me up lately. She has come up with the funnies stuff.

Here are a few...
  • It's not a toot if it doesn't stink.
  • I(Maddie) tooted and it smells like Hot Dogs.
  • M-"Daddy, what is Jakey doing" D- "he's flying" M- "Like a G-6?" (a fave song of hers at the moment)
  • I like the Abouna(Priest at church) drink. (Communion wine- she's liking it early)
  • She thinks all burps are caused by Diet Coke (note- she does not drink diet coke)
  • She had a cavity filled (yes, I know she is only 3. but we floss and brush all the time) and wanted to know if she would always get to wear the mask when she went to the dentist. It's the mask for laughing gas.

She has also developed quiet a temper and turns into the devil. When I get the chance, I'll down load the video. She was tired that she pitched a fit for no reason and during this time, I swear her eyes popped out of her head.

Whine vs. Wine

Whine:

Pierces my ears
Gets on my nerves
Cost nothing
Usually asking you for things
Scares your friends away
Awful at the first sound
Hugs, kisses and loves you in the morning

Wine:

Numbs my ears
Calms my nerves
You have to leave the house to purchase
You are asking for another glass
Makes friends come around
Good until the last drop
Leaves you with a bad hangover

The last reason for whine makes all whine worth it.

Moving and Shaking

9 and 1/2 months into his sweet life- he has decided to crawl. All little cracks Jakey can squeeze into- have now been blocked. (yesterday, i couldn't find him. he had crawled under the end table and squeezed his little buns behind the coach)

Speaking of little buns- Jake is on the weight gain plan. Crazy right? My once 60% chunker is now 6% on the curve. He eats like a pig, nurses like a champ and eats anything you pick in sight. Where is it going? I guess to my thighs.

Wee-Wee Still Jake's friend and grabs it every change he gets. I guess that is a boy for you. At least the peeing in Mommy's face has ceased.

DaDa- I think Jake thinks that is my name. He will look at me and say, "DaDa" and then looks and Daniel and says nothing. HA!

Helmet update- 4 weeks left. Yea. He now wears it 14 hours a day. I will miss his helmet when he is done. All the thrown toys it has protected him from.

Jake is still my sweetie and non-problem child. I heart him and he makes me mush.
